 Tecplot 360 2012 R1 Jan Beta - 13.4.0.23147

Beta distributions of Tecplot products are provided "as is" to address bugs in the previous release and to allow a preview of new features. While the build has been verified by a set of automated tests, there has been no formal release testing done, especially on the installation programs. If this concerns you, please wait for Tecplot 360 2012 Release 1.
This beta release requires a license key for 2011 products. Please follow the instructions below to request a license key:

  • Mac (64-bit, Intel) Starting with this release the Python add-on requires Python 2.7.1 on the Mac
UNIX
To install, copy the archive into a new directory and run the following command to unpack it:
tar -xf FILENAME
Where FILENAME is the archive name. Run the following command to start the installer:
./setuptec
Note: The ABAQUS Output Database loader has been re-enabled in this beta.
Bugs fixed in this beta
  • Fixed several loader issues with Ansys Results, Abaqus Input, Ansys CDWRITE and the new CFX loader that existed in the last beta.
  • Fixed a bug where the cursor would remain in the busy state after pressing cancel in the Select Zones And Varaibles section of the Fluent loader.
  • Fixed a bug in the LSTC/DYNA Taurus State Database loader where Tecplot was not showing correct node values.
  • Fixed a bug in the Fluent loader where some variables were not being loaded with friendly names.
  • Fixed a crash that occurred when canceling an integration operation in CFD Analyzer.
  • Fixed a crash reported in WinQual event# 48849976. Please submit your crash reports. We do look at them and fix them. :)
  • Fixed a crash when enabling the contour layer for an FE polytope dataset.
New features in the December 2011 beta
  • New ANSYS CFX loader (still in beta)
  • ANSYS loader is now compatible with ANSYS 14 results (still in beta)
  • Deferred assigning of default contour levels until first requested or manually assigned (performance improvement)
  • Removed unnecessary glFlush and glFinish calls that forced round trips to the XServer and slowed down remote rendering
Bugs fixed in the December 2011 beta
  • Fixed crash when enabling contour layer for an FE polytope dataset with more than 256 faces or nodes
  • Fixed bug where PLOT3D loader incorrectly assumes that uniform data has a shared grid
  • Fixed crash when loading a full file with more variables than the combination of the grid/solution files
  • Fixed crash when playing a macro that manipulates XY maps on 32-bit Windows
  • Fixed crash while calculating gradients
  • Fixed improper display of node labels
  • Fixed hang when calculating turbulence frequency
  • Fixed crash loading foreign byte-order OpenFOAM data
  • Fixed slow posting of Data Set Info for large single zones
