Tecplot's TecIO library ("TECIO") and preplot executables may be distributed for the purpose of generating data files compatible with Tecplot's software. We provide precompiled libraries for a variety of platforms. Or, if you are inclined, you may compile the source yourself and link the library into your own solver.
These files are used to generate data compatible with Tecplot Focus 2009 and Tecplot 360 2009 [12.0] or newer. This version supports a shared mesh (e.g., one grid with multiple solution/results files), n-faced polyhedra, and transient datasets. The representation for Time/date data, introduced in Tecplot 2009 [March 2009], is described in the Data Format Guide (below). There is no format change. If you have an interest in outputting a solver code to a Tecplot format, please do not hesitate to contact Scott Rumage (Tecplot's Partner and Code Interface Manager) for consultation. Contacting us may significantly reduce your time in creating the output, plus it will aid in the creation of a product that will take advantage of Tecplot's capabilities. Informing us of your work also allows us to apprise you of updates and bug fixes to the library. When contacting us with technical issues, it will be very helpful if you would provide this information:
Library - [January 2010, Tecplot build 12.1] supports n-faced polyhedral, sharing grids among multiple time steps, and strands (parts through time). There is no special provision for Time/Date format - please consult the Data Format Guide (below). Using this library, output files will be readable by Tecplot 2009 (March 2009) or newer.
Versions of the library are available:
